Research at the School spans archaeology and cultural heritage, the history of art, conservation science, and design — with particular strength in the material culture of China and Asia and the heritage of the Silk Roads.
It is carried out through national and provincial platforms, university institutes and centres, and close partnerships with museums and collections worldwide, ranging from field archaeology and the conservation of objects to the publication of major scholarship and contemporary creative practice.
